Ingredients for the Blood Orange Painkiller Mocktail
- Coconut water: to balance all of these flavors, I added in some Vita Coco Coconut Water. I enjoy the Vita Coco brand but any coconut water will do.
- Pineapple juice: I recommend using 100% pineapple juice for a perfectly sweetened taste. I used Dole Pineapple Juice that I picked up from my grocery store, but you can feel free to juice your own pineapple.
- Blood orange juice: to create that light pink hue, add blood orange juice to this drink. I picked up some blood oranges from Sprouts Supermarket and squeezed in the fresh juice.
- Cream of coconut: create the creaminess in this co*cktail with Cream of Coconut. Make sure to shake this up really well before using.
- Nutmeg: a pinch of fresh ground nutmeg balances beautifully with the sweet and citrus flavors from this mocktail.
- Garnish: top this mocktail with a blood orange slice, pineapple slice, pineapple frond, and edible flower for an elevated look, if desired. Or keep it simple and use a blood orange wheel or pineapple slice.
How to Elevate Your Mocktails
Wanna take your mocktails to the next level? Here are a few suggestions!
- I love using interesting or unique glassware to take my mocktails to the next level (I used the Chandelier Eidos from Bomshbee for this mocktail).
- Add a fun garnish to your mixed drink. For this mocktail, I used a blood orange slice, pineapple slice, pineapple frond, and edible flower and it turned out beautifully.
- Use quality ingredients. I love to go to Sprouts Supermarket to grab my ingredients because I think they have the freshest produce and highest quality ingredients which really makes a difference in your mocktail’s taste.
How to Make the Blood Orange Painkiller Mocktail
Let’s shake up this pretty Painkiller Mocktail! It’s a five-ingredient mixed drink that takes just a few minutes to prep and even less time to make.
Start by adding the coconut water, pineapple juice, juice from half a blood orange, cream of coconut, and ice to a co*cktail shaker (I used this co*cktail shaker from Y DRINK). Then, shake until the mocktail mixture is chilled and frothy.
Fill your preferred glass with crushed ice and strain the mocktail mixture into the glass. Sprinkle with fresh ground nutmeg. If desired, garnish with a blood orange and pineapple slice, pineapple frond, and edible flower too, if desired. Enjoy!
