Really excited to see what the Startup World Cup thinks of Batech. Investors tend to think of startups as experiments of product market fit or the lowest cost of acquiring a customer, Batech has that, but they also have something else, this palpable infectious energy. These guys have won almost every major AI or SAAS pitch competition in latam for the last 2 quarters. If you are SF based you should definitely try to meet them or watch the competition.

🚀🇵🇹🇪🇸 That’s a wrap! We had 20 Portuguese Startups in the Portuguese delegation at 4YFN 10 of which were exhibiting at the Startup Portugal stand. Hundreds of contacts and meetings were made with potential investors, local incubators and accelerators, partners and customers. Everyone recognized the high quality of this delegation, with emphasis on the investors who evaluated the pitches they made on the “Pitching Point” stage. We also had 3 startups awarded in pitch competitions: Goparity | Impact finance which won second place among 140 startups competing for the conference's “Impact Award” and expressTEC and FiberSight which respectively won first and second prize in the University Projects category of the Santander X Global Award ’24 final. The Catalan market is an important hub of innovation and entrepreneurship that deserves the full attention of Portuguese entrepreneurs, especially in areas such as health & bio tech, smart manufacturing, fintech and hospitality. The 4YFN (four years from now) startup fair benefits from integration into the Mobile World Congress which attracted around 100,000 visitors this year and is a major international reference. This first participation of a Portuguese delegation of startups at 4YFN included the important collaboration of the Consul General of Portugal in Barcelona, Ana Coelho and aicep Portugal Global. Next year we intend to return with an even larger delegation to what will be an important stop in Startup Portugal Business Abroad program. 💪🇵🇹🚀
