Morning Anchor
KATIE KILLEN anchors News 13 Weekday Mornings. However, she’s worn many hats during her time Western North Carolina, including Rutherford County bureau reporter, weekend morning anchor and traffic anchor.
Katie also co-hosts AnchorMOMS: The Podcast with her fellow newsies and moms in the News 13 newsroom. The trio tackles national news stories that impacts families while adding their perhaps unwarranted opinions and often embarrassing anecdotes.
Before coming to the mountains, Katie spent time at various stations across the country including stops in Washington D.C., Virginia, Charlotte and Colorado. While in Colorado Springs, she was one part of the duo named "Best News Anchor Team" by the Colorado Broadcasters Association.
She holds degrees from both Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA and American University in Washington, D.C. Katie grew up in Ebensburg, PA.
Katie and her husband, Brian, have a daughter River. In her spare time, she enjoys running, working out and reading. Send her all your good book recommendations! She’s thrilled to call the Blue Ridge Mountains Home!
