ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Since 1999, Jay Siltzer has been a staple of the WLOS family.

After 30 years in the news business, Jay signed off for the last time during News 13's Wednesday morning broadcast.

From past to present, WLOS members shared their farewell video messages with Jay, showing just how big of an impact he's had on his friends and family -- even Governor Roy Cooper chimed in with his own best wishes.

During his career, Jay also completed the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University.

To say their final goodbyes and catch up, every morning forecaster since the start of the station gathered for a trip down memory lane recently in the studio.

The gathering was a chance to tell stories about their most cherished time on the morning show.

We'll miss Jay's commitment to the community and all of the jokes!

We wish him all the best!
